CTPH invites Researchers to Apply for Upcoming First R Studio
The Consortium for Translational and Precision Health (CTPH), a Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA)-funded partnership between Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) and the University of Houston (UH), is inviting researchers to apply for the next First R Studio, scheduled for July 28, 2026.
First R Studios are structured, 90-minute sessions designed to assist early-career investigators preparing to submit or resubmit their first R01 grant.
During each session, selected presenters share their proposals with a multidisciplinary panel of reviewers curated by the studio committee.
Presenters receive targeted, expert feedback and engage in discussion to address key scientific, methodological or strategic challenges prior to submission. Written feedback is also provided following each session.
Investigators receive feedback to improve their grant submissions and increase their likelihood of receiving funding.
Eligibility and Submission
Investigators interested in participating in a First R Studio may apply by submitting a Specific Aims page, an NIH biosketch and a draft proposal. From each cohort, the studio committee selects two finalists to present.
Researchers are encouraged to apply to take advantage of this opportunity before the June 15 deadline.
