Areas of Support
Areas of Support
The Data Science and Health Informatics program focuses on three areas of support:
Health Data Resources: applied research and practice focused on managing health data across care delivery and population health domains.
Clinical Research Informatics: The use of informatics to discover and manage new knowledge about health and disease. This includes secondary uses of clinical data and trial-related informatics.
Translational Bioinformatics: Development of storage, analytic and interpretive methods to transform genomic, digital health and other biomedical data into proactive, predictive, preventive and participatory health applications.
Data Sources and Support
CTPH supports investigators in leveraging existing data sources for research. We facilitate access to three main categories of data: electronic health record (EHR) data from Baylor Medicine and its affiliates, de-identified EHR data from Epic Cosmos and a curated list of additional data sources for secondary analyses.
