The Training and Workforce Devolvement (TWD) program at the Consortium for Translational and Precision Health (CTPH) uses rigorous methods to develop and deliver learning experiences that help stakeholders build a shared understanding of translational science within, across and beyond CTPH.

Services

  • Developing short courses available through an interactive online portal

  • Fostering mentorship opportunities to support professional growth

  • Identifying strategies to build a highly skilled workforce in translational science

  • Coordinating and promoting access to resources through the CTPH Learn portal

Program Leadership

  • Faculty Co-Lead

    Dr. Moreno is professor and chair of the Huffington Department of Education, Innovation & Technology, Thomas R. Powers Distinguished Chair of Educational Outreach and director of the Center for Educational Outreach at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.

    An internationally recognized science educator, she is a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and recipient of the Robertson Presidential Award, Baylor’s highest honor for educational contributions. She earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, a master’s from the Instituto Nacional de Investigaciones sobre Recursos Bióticos in Veracruz, Mexico and a doctorate in biology from Rice University.

  • Faculty Co-Lead

    Dr. Bruce is a clinical professor of behavioral and social sciences and associate dean for research at the Fertitta Family College of Medicine. He is also founding director of UHPH Collaboratories within UH Population Health. His research explores factors affecting cognitive and physical functioning among populations at elevated risk for chronic disease across the life course and generations.

    He earned a doctorate in sociology from North Carolina State University and completed postdoctoral training in family medicine at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and in biobehavioral health at Duke University.
