All of Us and N3C
National-level electronic health record data, linked to unique phenotype and genotype information, are available through the All of Us Research Program and N3C.
All of Us Research Program
The All of Us Research program, organized by the National Institutes of Health, is a prospective, multi-center observational study. Its goal is to create a centralized data repository from physical exams, surveys, electronic health records, and - omic data to support secondary research and genome-wide association studies.
Participation
As of 2025, about 600,000 participants have contributed data, with roughly 300,000 linked to electronic health records.
Access
Researchers gain access after completing online training and credential verification. New users receive a quota of free compute time, typically sufficient for analysis that exclude -omic data.
N3C Program
The N3C is a collaboration among Clinical and Transactional Science Awards Program hubs, supported by the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences, along with distributed clinical data networks such as:
PCORnet
OHDSI
ACT
TriNetX
Provides Support
Improve efficiency and accessibility of COVID-19 clinical data analysis
Enhance understanding of COVID-19
Demonstrate a novel model for collaborative data sharing
