The Resources and Services Program will host "REDCap Training Series: Development Mode," a hands-on training session from noon to 1 p.m. Sept. 8 on Microsoft Teams.

Designed for researchers and staff who are new to REDCap or looking to strengthen their project development skills, the session will introduce the fundamentals of REDCap project creation and guide participants through the essential steps required to build, structure, test and prepare a project for data collection.

Participants will learn about:

  • Project creation and setup

  • Instrument design

  • Data dictionaries

  • Codebooks

  • Testing workflows

  • Best practices for preparing projects for data collection and data export

By the end of the session, participants will be able to:

  • Identify the key steps for setting up a REDCap project from start to finish.

  • Define the components of a REDCap data collection form.

  • Describe how the data dictionary and codebook document an instrument's structure.

  • Identify the steps required to test data collection processes and export data.

This training is ideal for researchers seeking a strong foundation in REDCap project development and the skills needed to confidently prepare projects for successful data collection and management.
